Dr. Rachel Wilson
Dr. Rachel (Grosvenor) Wilson is a native of Dripping Springs, TX. She first gained experience with animals in the veterinary field as a high school student volunteering here at Dripping Springs Animal Hospital.
As an undergraduate student, Dr. Wilson studied Biomedical Science at Texas A&M. During her time as an undergraduate student she continued to gain veterinary experience working as a veterinary technician at a busy small animal practice in the College Station area while also managing a large-scale horse boarding facility.
Dr. Wilson completed her veterinary degree from Texas A&M University in 2010. Upon graduation, she was selected for a prestigious year-long internship position at Austin Equine Hospital where she received specialized training in anesthesia, emergency medicine, sports medicine, and equine surgery. After the completion of her internship, she joined Austin Equine Hospital as an associate veterinarian with a particular emphasis in emergency work and anesthesiology. During her time at Austin Equine, Dr. Wilson's work was published in a national veterinary journal detailing an innovative new surgical treatment method for glaucoma in horses.
In addition to her focus on equine medicine, Dr. Wilson remained close friends with her early mentor Dr. Jim Hudson (DSAH founder), and continued to work with him intermittently during her time off from Austin Equine.
In 2015 Dr. Wilson joined Dripping Springs Animal Hospital full time and loves being able to serve the community where she grew up. Away from work she enjoys spending time traveling, horseback riding, and spending time with her pets and family.
